Text Analysis Basics Online
Text analysis (text data mining) is the process of collecting, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of text in order to discover new information imbedded within a text dataset. For example, you might be interested in examining word and phrase frequencies in political speeches, use of keywords across social media posts, or even how texts are connected with the use of specific language. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of text analysis using free Constellate software and text files from JSTOR. From here, you can begin your own text analysis using your own data in Python and R environments.
